Auto accident checklist
Keep this in your glovebox. What to do in the first 30 minutes after a crash.
- Check everyone for injuries; call 911 if needed
- Move to safety if possible
- Photograph all vehicles, damage, and the scene
- Exchange names, insurers, policy numbers, and plates
- Collect witness contact info
- File a police report and note the number
- Do not admit fault at the scene
- Notify your insurer the same day
